This set was hand made and hand-painted in Sergeev, Russia. This gorgeous 5 pieces Church in blue matryoshka set is wood burned and hand painted giving it a unique look. Although the majority of matryoshkas are painted all over, some have the native wood color exposed. The wood becomes the background of the doll, and paint is added to give her a face and costume.
